Sierra Bags Celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Promotion
October 1 marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the annual international health campaign that brings attention to breast cancer. Brands, companies, nonprofits, sports teams, and many other commercial enterprises participate to raise funds that go toward breast cancer research, cure, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The campaign was founded in 1985, but it wasn’t until 1991 that a pink ribbon became the symbol of Breast Cancer Awareness Month thanks to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Since then, the color pink dominates the month of October.
Sierra Bags also wants to do our part for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! We all have direct experience with breast cancer. Whether we have been diagnosed ourselves, we know someone who has, or someone close to us has passed away from the disease, odds are, everyone has a story about breast cancer.
And the odds are there. In fact, according to Breast Cancer Org, one in eight U.S. women will experience breast cancer in her life. Approximately 40,000 people die each year from breast cancer. While breast cancer incidents have decreased since 2010, it’s still the second-highest killer behind lung cancer. We have work to do!
For the month of October, Sierra Bags is partnering with Bright Ink, an organization that focuses on educating women about breast and ovarian health. Through programs, partnerships, and strategic initiatives, Bright Pink aims to reach women before diagnosis to promote proactive participation. The organization also works closely with healthcare providers dedicated to fighting breast cancer.
Sierra Bags will donate our customer’s shipping costs to Bright Ink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. That means, our customers enjoy free shipping, but that money is really going toward fighting breast cancer.
For example, if a customer orders a case of Small Child Resistant Exit Bags for $215, their shipping cost will be waived. However, Sierra Bags will match that shipping cost and instead donate that money to Bright Ink.
It’s an offer that everyone can feel good about.
